Agency Review on the Family Resource Center Every community mental health and local agency programs provide a needed service in the local community. Each program is important and provides everyone access to crucial mental health treatment and other needed resources. These programs provide services such as access to medication, emergency mental health services and counseling for everyone that do not have the means to pay for these services. Different centers provide specific services that are needed in a high-need area. One centers service may include group counseling, individual counseling, assessments, and pharmaceutical services at a low cost. Main Goals The main goals that The Family Resource Center is to provide programs that will strengthen families. The programs that will help meet the needs of the families and aim to strengthen their goals are, parenting skills development, positive youth development, teen pregnancy prevention, increase graduation rates, family financial stability, promote literacy, job readiness, and positive father involvement. Target Population and Client Demographics The center provides services for children, adolescents, teens, adults, and elderly. Age ranges from birth until the time death. Services are open to all cultures that are seeking services. Each client and family members are able to receive individual counseling sessions, family counseling sessions, attend group meeting, attend workshops, and classes as often as they want at no charge. Source of Funding The Family Resource Center is funded from a grant through the Mississippi Department of Human Services and a state Economic Assistance Program.
